2009 Lotus Evora at the London motor show

 

Lotus unveiled the new Lotus Evora at the London Motor Show in July 22nd which received plenty of praises from the media and is the talk of ALL car forums. Everyone agrees that this car will be a success and pave the way for different variations like 2+2, 2+0, convertible, paddle shifters, a higher horse power version (more information can be found here http://www.lotusevora.com/) AND the new Esprit. At the Los Angeles Auto Show this November, LCU will have Evora on display and will plan a dealer council meeting right before the L.A. Auto Show to ALL North American Lotus Franchise. After that, LCU will start to pass around Evora to dealers who request to have it. Production will start in the fall of ’09 and expect delivery in the winter with first year production numbers to the U.S. to be around 700. That being said, allocation will be determine solely by past productivity (sales) which gives us plenty of time to sale cars until Evora’s arrival.

Bearing the same engine and supercharger as the new Elise SC, the 2008 Lotus Exige S produces 218 HP and 156 lb ft of torque from a high revving 1.8 liter Toyota built 2ZZ engine. The engine displays impressive flexibility making the car more relaxed yet instantly responsive - with exceptional acceleration throughout the RPM range.

The Exige S blazes to 60 MPH in a mere 4.1 seconds and whizzes past 100 MPH in just 11 seconds. Precise steering, outstanding suspension, gripping Yokohama tires and 100 pounds of downforce at 100 MPH, gives the Exige the kind of handling that made Lotus legendary.

The 2008 Lotus Elise continues the tradition of refined motoring with a sublime sports car that handles and performs like a race car. The Elise has numerous improvements installed as standard equipment including a new Lotus Tire Pressure Monitoring System that provides instant warning if there is a puncture or if pressures fall below safe levels.

Other upgrades include a stylish new instrument display with a high-definition LCD message panel, clutter-reducing "hidden until lit" warning and shift lights and customizable display options.
